Understanding Creation Modes

Fudie offers five distinct creation modes, each designed for a specific use case. Understanding when to use each one will help you get the best results.

Enhance

Best for: Improving existing photos without changing the food

Enhance mode takes your existing dish photo and improves the lighting, colors, and overall presentation while keeping the food exactly as it is. The dish fidelity lock is enabled by default, meaning the AI preserves every ingredient, plating detail, and portion size.

  • Input: Upload a photo of your dish
  • Output: Improved version with better lighting and color
  • Cost: 1 credit per image
  • Variations: Up to 4
  • Formats: 1:1, 4:5, 16:9

When to use: You have a decent phone photo but need it to look professional for your menu or social media.

Restyle (Prompted)

Best for: Applying new visual styles to existing dishes

Restyle mode lets you transform the styling of your dish photo. The AI preserves the exact food but changes the environment — new lighting, backgrounds, props, and mood. This is where the prompt builder really shines.

  • Input: Upload a photo + configure style preferences
  • Output: Restyled version matching your prompts
  • Cost: 1 credit per image per variation
  • Variations: Up to 4
  • Formats: 1:1, 4:5, 16:9
  • Supports: Style references, advanced controls, negative prompts, brand calibration

When to use: You want to create multiple styled versions of the same dish for different platforms or campaigns.

Generate

Best for: Creating food photos from scratch

Generate mode creates entirely new food images from text descriptions. No input photo needed. Describe the dish, set your style preferences, and the AI creates it.

  • Input: Text description of the desired dish
  • Output: AI-generated food photo
  • Cost: 1 credit per image per variation
  • Variations: Up to 4
  • Formats: 1:1, 4:5, 16:9
  • Supports: Style references, advanced controls, negative prompts, brand calibration

When to use: You need photos for a dish that doesn't exist yet (new menu items), or you want idealized representations.

Animate

Best for: Creating short video clips from still photos

Animate mode transforms a static food photo into a cinematic video clip with realistic motion, steam, and atmosphere.

  • Input: Upload a photo
  • Output: MP4 video clip (3-15 seconds)
  • Cost: 4 credits base + duration surcharges
  • Variations: 1 per generation
  • Format: 16:9 landscape only

Motion Presets

Choose a motion style for your video:

  • Ad Hero — Cinematic reveal with smooth camera motion and rich highlights
  • Human Presence — Subtle human activity around the dish
  • 360 Look Around — Orbital camera movement around the dish
  • Steam Drama — Atmospheric steam and dramatic lighting effects
  • Macro Reveal — Start tight on texture and pull back to reveal the full plate

You can also enable audio generation for a native soundtrack at no extra cost.

Upscale

Best for: Increasing image resolution for print and large displays

Upscale mode takes any image and increases its resolution up to 4x without introducing pixelation or artifacts. Perfect for turning phone photos into billboard-ready assets.

  • Input: Upload a photo
  • Output: High-resolution version
  • Cost: 1 credit per image
  • Variations: 1
  • Format: Original aspect ratio preserved
  • Scale factors: 1.5x, 2x, 3x, or 4x

When to use: You have a low-resolution photo that needs to be printed on menus, banners, or signage.
