Understanding Credits

Fudie uses a simple credit system: 1 credit = 1 photo. This guide explains how credits work, what they cost, and how to manage your balance.

Multi-Format Cost

If you select multiple output formats (e.g., 1:1 + 4:5), each format counts separately:

  • 1 photo in 2 formats with 3 variations = 1 x 2 x 3 = 6 credits

The total cost is always shown before you generate.

Credit Pools

Your account has two separate credit pools:

Subscription Credits

  • Granted monthly based on your plan (75 / 300 / 900)
  • Roll over for up to 3 billing cycles — unused credits from this month carry into next month
  • After 3 months, the oldest unused subscription credits expire
  • Reset on each billing cycle — you receive your full monthly allocation plus any carryover

Non-Expiring Credits (Purchased)

  • Bought as one-time credit packs
  • Never expire — they remain in your account across plan changes and renewals
  • Used only after subscription credits are depleted

Buying More Credits

Need extra credits? Purchase credit boost packs:

PackCreditsPricePer Photo
Boost 5050 credits$15$0.30
Boost 100100 credits$29$0.29

Purchased credits are non-expiring and added immediately to your account.

Credit Holds

When you submit a generation job, credits are reserved (put on hold) for the duration of processing. If the job succeeds, the credits are consumed. If the job fails, credits are automatically released back to your balance.

You can see your held credits in Settings > Credits under "On Hold."

Viewing Your Balance

Go to Settings to see:

  • Available Balance — Credits ready to use
  • On Hold — Credits reserved for in-progress jobs
  • Subscription Pool — Monthly credits from your plan
  • Non-Expiring Pool — Purchased credits
  • Recent Transactions — History of credit usage, purchases, and refunds

Team Credits

If you're part of a team, all members share a single credit pool. The team owner's subscription determines the monthly credit grant. All members' usage draws from the same pool — there's no per-member allocation.
